Yup, it’s that time again. Here at Pregnancy & Baby, Tuesdays mean random name fun. Let’s see what we get today.

Baby girl: Agatha; female form of the Greek, agathos, thus ‘good, kind woman’.

Baby boy:  Alban; meaning ‘white’, it is suitable for boys with blond hair or complexion.

Well, it’s odd we got two A names. I really like the name Agatha. It’s sweet and old fashioned, and Ray Bradbury used it as the name of the little girl in his story, the Electric Grandmother, a great story. Overall, I doubt it would come to me naming a child this, but I do like the name.

Alban, I sort of like. At least, I don’t dislike it. It’s hard to name a baby something based on coloring though, because coloring changes. My son had almost white platinum curls as a baby, but by age six, his hair had changed to a more dusty blond, and now he’s looking like he might have brown hair eventually. It’s something to consider, if you’re choosing a color-based name.
