Birth control for men may be a reality soon. According to one article I read recently, “A new study by Chinese researchers at the National Research for Family Center in Beijing has been focusing on the effectiveness of a  monthly testosterone-based injection for men. And the results are promising with a 99 percent success rate..”

That’s cool news in a way. I mean men should have the option, and women too, for an alternative form of birth control. Although, I’m wondering if birth control for men does really become a reality, how many women would trust men when it comes to their own conception issues. I mean, if you had a guy as a partner that you totally trusted it might work, but come on, many of the men I’ve know can’t even remember to pick up the dry cleaning. NO offense to the responsible men out there either, this is just my experience. I’m not sure if I personally would trust my baby making issues in total to a fella.

I do think this is good new for couple who want to be double sure no surprise pregnancies pop up though. I mean you hear many stories of women who do get pregnant even when on the pill, and other contraceptives have fail rates as well.

So all in all, I’m looking at this new possible birth control option as smart back-up. What about you? Would you go off birth control and leave it to your guy?
