This April, the March of Dimes is releasing a music CD designed to help women relax as they prepare for and deliver their babies.
The CD, Stork Tunes: Songs for a Happy Birth Day, sounds very cool and I assure you, most mamas do enjoy soothing music during labor. I did, my pals have, and so this CD is a great idea. Plenty of research points to music as being an especially effective non-medical relaxation and even pain relief tool.
Each of the songs on Stork Tunes relates to the power and joy of mothers and their babies, plus after your baby arrives you can use it for a relaxing bedtime routine for your baby and you.
Best of all, all net profits from the CD will be used to support March of Dimes research and education programs to prevent birth defects, premature birth, and other leading causes of infant death and disability. This compilation of inspirational and calming tunes includes:
Celine Dion A Mother’s Prayer
Dixie Chicks Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)
Jessica Andrews I Wish for You
The Boys Choir of Harlem Children of the World
Katrina Carlson Mother
Norah Jones Sunrise
Dean Backholm Mother & Child
Kenny Loggins Rainbow Connection
Billy Joel Lullabye (Goodnight, My Angel)
Sinead O’Connor All Babies
Wynonna Judd Always Will
Raffi May There Always be Sunshine
Some of these artists are not my style – but others are. What do you think? Any artists you love on this CD?
Music for babies in the womb is very important for early artistic development. It is very soothing for baby and they will recognize and enjoy music after they are born.
Have something to add? Of course you do! So post it here:
