Ok, your pregnant belly may not actually be public property, but most of the nation will assume so. It’s like people can’t resist reaching for that preggers belly.

What to say if some one asks to touch your belly, and you don’t want them to: 

• I’ve got the worst ticklish tummy.
• If I can touch your belly.
• I’ve got a stomach touching phobia - personally, I used this one. I hate when people touch my stomach, don’t know why, I just always have.
• AND THE BEST: I don’t know, I’ve been feeling kind of like heaving. Of course, put it however you like, but no one in their right mind wants to be puked on.

What to do if someone touches your belly without asking:

This one is harder, because darn it, they already went and invaded your space. Still, I’d just plain say, please ask before grabbing at me, or go back to the “I feel sick” scenario. You might also consider a shirt - yeah it’ll get boring to wear the same thing for nine months, but you can save it for big outings to the mall.
