Ron Huxley

Question: "While I want to have a family, I've been increasingly nervous throughout my wife's pregnancy. How can we afford this? Will my wife and our baby be okay? Will I be a good father?"

Family therapist Ron Huxley answers:
It is in our nature, as men, to be consumed with worry about our families' health, finances and needs. This is an honorable and worthy task for us as fathers and should never be diminished.

Unfortunately, many fathers hide, in fear, behind these concerns and miss out on the rich experiences of emotional bonding with their mates and new babies. A father is an important emotional and physical part of his baby's life and has a crucial role to play in the child's psychological development. This is a father's highest task, in my opinion.

Anyone can put food on the table, but real fathers put love and joy into their child's hearts.PregnancyAndBaby.com
