It takes a while for our bodies to adjust after childbirth. If you are pregnant soon after you had a baby, Lisa Stone, an ACE-certified Pre-and Post-Natal Fitness Instructor, has some advice about adjusting your workout to accommodate your body's needs.

Your question
I am pregnant again, only four months after my first baby was born! Do I need to adjust my workout?

The expert answers
I would suggest letting comfort be your guide with your exercise routine. For many women, it takes nine to 12 months for their bodies to recover from pregnancy and childbirth.

Since your body has only had four months to bounce back, you may find that you don't have the strength and stamina that you had with your first pregnancy. If that's the case, then modify the intensity and duration of your workouts to accommodate your body's limitations. Really listen to your body's signals as to when you've had enough exercise!

Best of luck to you! PregnancyAndBaby.com
